Apparently I'm not the only one who's concerned with the topic:
Someone wound up at Don't Believe the Hype today because they googled this expression:
"Do supermodels take away the fame from accomplished women?"
Pretty interesting!

I dont think women who look good take away from those women who "do good"/work hard. Otherwise surely the attractive and fashionable successfull women would cancel themselves out. I think that beauty is something to fantasise about and aspire to and that it is healthy to do so, but success is something to actually try and achieve. If we look into it deeply we may find that many models, actresses and so forth are very business minded individuals who have cleverly created appearances and personas which the public choose to see. Many successfull women on the other hand can be seen to deny this aspect of their feminity and this can drag them backwards as it is a matter of fact that a successfull company will choose an attractive MD over a dowdy MD with the same qualifications and experience.I am sorry to say it but we as a race prefer beauty over brains and that is that.

I really think that in society today, we recognize pretty people more than smart people.
