I just had a baby last week... that's all.
A boy! Yet unamed, but already being schooled on what's important when it comes to girl culture, feminism etc. He's going to ROCK.
I'm going to take a short maternity leave from DBTH... but who knows, you might find some new posts that appear late at night as I figure out what to do with a screaming kid.

As great as your book is, this is a much bigger accomplishment. Bravo, Audrey!

well, first of all, congrats!!! so, i came here tonight because of mariska hargitay's blog, and i just wanted to tell you...i'm thinking of becoming a rape crisis counselor, or a victim's advocate, child witness coordinator...something to that effect. that, i can somewhat credit to mariska and SVU. another thing that inspired me to go that route was my human relations course i took last year. the parts that stood out to me were about models, and sexism, and how the sexes are differently viewed. sometimes, tho i found that my prof and students would get so into the discussion that it would just be endless complaints about men, and girls, especially celebrities, that embody the wacked out version of beauty we've come to accept. looking so closely at our crazy culture and understanding WHY rape and abuse is so prevalent is so important, and that's where my admiration for what u do comes in. what i find really refreshing about ur blog is how matter of fact and contemporary it is. u understand the magnitude of it all, but ur not opposed to using humor to get ur point across, which i love. u don't whine, and it seems u understand that the time you'd spend whining is far better utilized by doing something.
this is an insanely long comment...i tend to ramble, clearly. again, just wanted to thank you. this site will be going into my favorites. good luck with oliver, which p.s. is an adorable name!!
