"It's not like Angelina is any better than a nurse working in a hospital, but she's getting the publicity for her contribution," Scotland's Daily Record quoted Kidman as saying. (As reported on Yahoo)
"I have a friend who is a doctor and every year he works in Africa for two months for no money. So everyone is on the same playing field, whether you offer your services as the doctor or as Angelina does."

Interesting.... because I while I applaud Angelina for using her celebrity to bring attention to worthy causes, I agree that she gets waaay too much buzz when there are so many other people who dedicate their lives to doing good. And we NEVER hear about them.
Think about it: a few years ago I remember hearing that Britney fulfilled a wish for the Make A Wish Foundation. She went to a Childrens Hospital to meet with a tween who was sick with a terminally ill disease. She was there for like a half hour and it not only did it probably make a lasting impression on the child, it won her super favorable publicity AND got lots of visibility for Make A Wish. And this photo is taken froma similar visit that Nicole Kidman made to a sick child in August 2005. (More on that here)
So why isn't she and EVERY celeb doing something like that once a week? I mean, when they are not on tour or on set, what the heck do they DO every day? Shop at Kitson on Roberston in LA? Eat lunch at the Ivy? Go to Bungalow 8 in NYC? Buy coffee at Starbucks in Malibu?
If we're going to treat them like goddesses and let them lead the best possible lives out of all mortals on the planet, the LEAST they could do is give a little back. And in the meantime, maybe a little more news about those who do something on a regular basis...
Hello Clay and Karen! 6:20 AM eh? Wow,this truly is the ultimate fan csetnot. But worry not for I shall hit the streets at 6:21am,sleep deprived, overloaded on caffeine that will kick in around 7am,half dressed, completely in Where's Waldo? mode. Sure I have no mobile device to peek at the updated clues but that's what makes this adventure so exciting!! Also I can't thank you enough for not having the real Keith at the final location.I think after hours of racing through the streets, peering in windows, crawling in the bushes, all since 6:21am I'd be looking like a mad scientist who just fought another mad scientist who was carrying tazmanian devils that escaped their bindings and kept trying to steal our pants. I'm sure Keith thanks you in advance. Well time to get those important 4 and a bit hours sleep. So until then I bid you goodnight!Phoenix
